What to Do If You Get a Bad One-Maninder
Remember the feeling you got in the pit of your stomach when it came time for your teacher to hand out report cards? Whether or not you felt you deserved a good report, you still had that moment of doubt. With school now behind us, you would think report cards were part of our pasts. Unfortunately, this is not the case. As working adults we must deal with employee performance reviews, also referred to as employee appraisals or performance evaluations. Whatever you call them; employee reviews evaluate our performance on the job. They often determine raises, promotions, and sometimes whether we get to keep our jobs. That can explain, why even as adults, these “report cards” often make us feel uneasy. It is helpful to prepare for an upcoming review. Document your achievements and list anything you want to discuss at the review. Sometimes fear of the unknown is the worst fear of all. That is why it may help to take a look at some definitions of the terminology used in employment reviews. According to this article, the goal of an appraisal should be to “increase communication, establish clear expectations, reinforce good performance, improve unsatisfactory performance, and foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.”With that said, it would stand to reason that all one would need to do to insure a good review would be to do a good job. However, that isn't always the case. Of course there exists an interpersonal relationship between boss and employee. Where there's a relationship there are undercurrents, both good and bad and these undercurrents can get in the way of an accurate review. On the brighter side of things, the relationship can be a good one, which inspires a good review. While this may sound positive, it isn't helpful to employee or employer. Without accurate feedback improvement cannot take place. On a darker note, the relationship may be a bad one. The person doing the review may act out of negative feelings rather than out of fairness. Again, this benefits no one. What should you do if you get a poor review? If you feel you have received an unfair review, you should consider responding to it. You should first try to discuss the review with the person who did it. Heed this warning, however. Wait until you can look at the review objectively. Was the criticism you received really that off the mark or are you just offended that you were criticized in the first place? If you eventually reach the conclusion that the review was truly unjust, and then set an appointment to meet with your reviewer. If there are any points that were correct, acknowledge those. Use clear examples that counteract the criticisms made. A paper trail is always helpful. Present anything you have in writing that can back you up. If you didn't leave a paper trail, remember this for the future.Ultimately, you should regard your review as a learning opportunity. You should be able to take away valuable information, whether it is about yourself or your reviewer.
I just don't know what to do-Angeli
Me and my boyfriend have been dating a year, or, should I say would have been dating a year on March 24th. I had wrote down the day we started to date, something I never ever do for anyone, but this relationship seemed special. After all, he was a good friend of mine, a secret crush, and many other things before we started to date. But, anyway. I started to fall in love with him..Over time. It was a huge mistake, he fooled me. It turns out when he told me he loved me, hugged me, kissed me..It turned out he never meant any of it. It was all just an act. He had been cheating on me, with more than 1 girl I should just say.. He broke my heart, once again. Before him I had dated a total loser, my ex, who cheated on me to. He played me, etc. And is still a jerk today. I'd told my boyfriend everything about him, he acted as if he understood. That's how I became to trust him more without cheating on me. When I found about the girls, my heart tore. I didn't understand, yet once again. I broke up with him, feeling SO stupid.. He acted like that if I left him, I would be hurt, and stuff. And he wouldn't get hurt at all. he acted like it was all my fault, etc. My friends weren't much of a help, they'd all just tell me to forget him, move on. To just try harder. But they obviously don't understand..Losing someone you thought you knew so well that you loved them.. When I think about it, atleast a month ago we were together, telling eachother we love eachother..And the way I felt. I feel empty and lonely all the time now, not seeing how someone could be as cruel enough to play with someone elses heart. I always have these feelings that if I gave him another chance..He wouldn't do it. But then I know he would, once a cheater always a cheater. The way I feel is weird, it's like my heart says yes..But my head says no. No one is giving me any advice on what to do, how to forget him.. I'm just so confused.
thoughts from the heart of a brokenhearted..
it was just months ago..and evreything is still clearly etched in my mind and heart..
it was feb12,09 when we met at their house to spend the whole day together with his family..the last t ime we did it was last december..(his not my boyfriend anymore that time..but he told me that if we can find time, well see each other like the way it use to be..)
everything was close to perfect..
as if theres a chance for us to make our relationship formal again..
but i prove myself wrong when the day of the hearts came..
it was evening when he texted me..
he ask me if were happy..and i replied.."yes, we are"
he asked again.."were ok,ryt?"..and i replied again.."yes ,we are"..
and his next textmessage broke my heart..
he told me in a nice way that it was almost 5 months ago that were separated..
and in that 5months he tried to fill up his emptiness to me..
and his last line totally broke my heart into pieces when he told me that..
"im starting to like someone else..and im about to date her..i hope ur happy for me.."
and now, im in the stage of total acceptance..
i never got the chance to meet his significant other..
though i BADLY wanna know whos that girl, still i know it will just hurt me..
it was jsut 2 months ago..
there were times i thought ive alredy move on..but deep inside me i know i still love him..eventhough he dont love me anymore..(stupid me!)
anyone??could give me advice..
yes i miss him, but i hnestly wanna get over him.
m waiting, for ur rply...maya
